Description
The “Cane” Nutcracker was designed by Carl Auböck II in 1950. Its restrained, almost sculptural construction combines solid polished brass with finely worked cane wrapping. The natural material encloses both handles, introducing warmth and tactility, while the reflective brass emphasises the precise lines of the design.
Measuring 17.5 centimetres in length, the nutcracker feels balanced and substantial in the hand. Its powerful mechanism is expressed directly through its form, turning the simple act of cracking a nut into a deliberately designed gesture. Model #4051 continues to be made in the Carl Auböck workshop in Vienna. Subtle casting and finishing marks record the artisanal production process and lend every piece an individual character.

Details
Material: Brass polished and Cane.
After some time a patina can develop on the polished brass surface, which can be polished off with a soft cloth and then brass polish - if desired.
Through the use of the original mold small errors, such as scratches or small creases can arise in the polished surface, which, however, do not detract from the charm of the object and underline the craft manufacturing process.
