Description
The "Aorta" II vase was designed by Carl Auböck II in 1952 and is a particularly characteristic creation from his Vienna workshop. Its organic yet highly reduced form evokes an anatomical structure, giving the object an almost sculptural presence.
The timelessly modern vase continues to be produced with great care in the Carl Auböck Workshop in Vienna using the original casting mould and the traditional sand-casting process. The brass is patinated, while the upper rim and base are polished. This contrast emphasises the clear form and distinctive tactile quality of the piece.
The "Aorta" II is much more than a traditional vase: it is an independent design object and a wonderful example of Carl Auböck's unmistakable design language.
