Chess Set - Iron enamelled+ nickel plated

An exceptional chess set by Carl Auböck III, designed in 1969 and now available again in a particularly striking version. The 32 chess pieces are made of iron, with half nickel-plated and half black enamelled. The resulting black-and-silver contrast gives the set its distinctive sculptural character.

The pieces are not limited to playing chess: their characteristic design also makes them excellent decorative objects or individual paperweights. An outstanding example of Carl Auböck III's Industrial Design and a true design classic.

The chess pieces are offered here without a chessboard, making them ideal for anyone who already owns a suitable board. But here at Contemporum. the set is also available together with a handmade chessboard made from fine cowhide leather. Also originally designed at Carl Auböck II.
