Description
An exceptionally restrained candle holder by Carl Auböck II, originally designed in 1942. Its simple, almost organic form has the timeless quality characteristic of many of the early designs created by the Werkstätte Carl Auböck.
The Candle Holder #7234 continues to be produced in the Werkstätte Carl Auböck in Vienna according to the historical design. Cast in solid brass and subsequently finished by hand, it combines a polished surface with the characteristic traces of the original casting process.
These details are an essential part of the object. Because the original casting mould is still used, small irregularities such as fine scratches, slight indentations or small marks may occur in the polished brass surface. They are not defects, but rather evidence of the traditional manufacturing process and give each piece its individual character.
Measuring 11 cm in height and weighing approximately 380 grams, the candle holder has a compact yet substantial presence. Equally convincing as a single object or as a pair, it works beautifully on a dining table, console or sideboard, as well as alongside other works by Carl Auböck.
A small design object from the early period of Carl Auböck's work – designed in 1942 and still produced in Vienna today.

Details
Info: After some time a patina can develop on the polished brass surface, which can be polished off with a soft cloth and then brass polish - if desired. Through the use of the original mold small errors, such as scratches or small creases can arise in the polished surface, which, however, do not detract from the charm of the object and underline the craft manufacturing process.
