Description
The “Modern Key” corkscrew #5970 was designed by Carl Auböck III in 1967. Its abstracted key shape initially conceals its true function, transforming a classic bar tool into an enigmatic and sculptural design object.
The reduced silhouette and substantial polished brass give the corkscrew a calm, timeless presence. Only upon closer inspection does its practical purpose reveal itself—true to the idea of an object carrying a secret. The design continues to be made in the Viennese workshop through several elaborate production stages using the original casting moulds.
