Description
A foot as a design icon. Designed by Carl Auböck II in 1952/53, the “Foot” paperweight is one of the distinctive small objects of Austrian modernism.
With its reduced yet unmistakably humorous form, Auböck transforms an everyday office object into a small sculptural piece. The Foot is part of the famous four-piece Walter Gropius paperweight set, together with the Egg, Hand and the stone wrapped in vegetable-tanned leather.
The Foot is produced in Austria using the original casting mould. Its polished brass surface may develop a natural patina over time and can be polished again if desired. Small irregularities such as fine scratches or minor marks may occur as a result of the traditional manufacturing process and underline the handmade character of each piece.
Since 2022, the Foot has also been available from us in an extraordinary XL version measuring 32 cm in length.
A small Auböck original with a strong presence – functional, sculptural and unmistakably Carl Auböck.
