Description
A clock designed as a sculptural wall object.
The “Stufenuhr” was designed by Carl Auböck III in 1969 and is one of the distinctive clock designs associated with the Carl Auböck workshop in Vienna. Its case, made from spun and hand-worked brass, creates a striking stepped structure with a strong sculptural presence.
The wall clock had not been produced for many years before being reintroduced in May 2024 on the occasion of Carl Auböck III’s 100th birthday. Equipped with a precise quartz movement, it combines the sculptural quality of an Auböck object with the everyday function of a contemporary clock.
Polished brass continuously reflects the surrounding light, giving the “Stufenuhr” a changing appearance throughout the day. Even when you are not looking at the time, it remains a distinctive object on the wall.
