Wine Glass "MAK Wiener Achtel"

Peter Noever’s MAK Achtel tumbler gives a familiar Viennese wine glass one precise contemporary gesture. Designed for J. & L. Lobmeyr in 2005, its otherwise restrained form is interrupted by a hollow for the thumb, making the glass immediately recognisable and particularly secure to hold.

A hand-applied line marks the traditional Austrian serving of one eighth of a litre. With a total capacity of 0.25 litres, the tumbler is equally useful for water and other drinks. Quiet, functional and distinctly Viennese, it turns understatement into identity.
