Bitossi Rimini Blu Ball Vase

A perfect sphere gives Aldo Londi’s richly textured decoration an ideal surface. Compact and beautifully balanced, this small Rimini Blu vase combines a simple geometric volume with an intricate sequence of hand-impressed motifs.

The brilliant crystalline glaze moves between deep cobalt, marine blue and touches of turquoise. As light crosses the relief, the stamped decoration appears to shift across the rounded body.

Measuring 15 centimetres in both height and diameter, the vase is suited to a single flower or a restrained arrangement. Left empty, it becomes a small ceramic sculpture with a strong presence of its own.

Each vase is made, decorated and glazed by hand in Italy. Natural variations in colour and surface ensure that every example is individual.
