Carafe "Alpha" Glass - amethyst

Created by Hans Harald Rath for J. & L. Lobmeyr in 1952, the Alpha carafe is a relaxed classic of Viennese modernism. Its rounded body and gently narrowed centre give it a distinctive silhouette while making it comfortable and secure to hold.

Each carafe is mouth-blown in exceptionally fine muslin glass. Although generous enough to hold 1.41 litres, it feels remarkably light. Six translucent colours allow the carafe to be paired with matching Alpha tumblers or mixed freely across the collection.

Amethyst is the most expressive Alpha colour. The translucent violet has a rich and slightly unconventional presence while preserving the clarity and modernity of Rath’s original form.
