Lobmeyr
Makers & Designers . Since 1823
The world-famous Viennese glass and chandelier manufacturer J. & L. Lobmeyr is existing since 1823 and is now under the direction in the 6th generation by the three cousins Leonid, Andreas and Johannes Rath.
For just over 200 years, Lobmeyr has specialized, among other things, in the production of drinking glasses made from wafer-thin muslin glass, which inspires enthusiasm among its fans worldwide. Until a glass leaves the production side, a Lobmeyr glass goes through at least 24 hands and four quality controls.
J. & L. Lobmeyr has always worked with well-known architects, designers and artists. At the turn of the century these were, for example, Adolf Loos and Josef Hoffmann, and in the 1950s, for example, Oswald Haerdtl.
Today they include Michael Anastassiades, Marco Dessi, Kim+Heep, Stefan Sagmeister, mischer'traxler and others.
Of course, Lobmeyr's specialization still stands for its world-famous chandeliers, which continue to be produced in Vienna in complex work steps.
