Carafe "Alpha" Glass - light blue

Created by Hans Harald Rath for J. & L. Lobmeyr in 1952, the Alpha carafe is a relaxed classic of Viennese modernism. Its rounded body and gently narrowed centre give it a distinctive silhouette while making it comfortable and secure to hold.

Each carafe is mouth-blown in exceptionally fine muslin glass. Although generous enough to hold 1.41 litres, it feels remarkably light. Six translucent colours allow the carafe to be paired with matching Alpha tumblers or mixed freely across the collection.

Light blue gives the carafe a cool, aquatic quality. Its subtle tone recalls clear water and summer skies, emphasising the almost weightless character of Lobmeyr’s muslin glass.
